Emoji Wallpaper

Privacy

Short version: the wallpaper you make never leaves your device, and there is no account to make.

What happens to your design

Everything is drawn in your browser, on an HTML canvas. The emoji you pick, the colours, the spacing and the finished image are all produced on your own device. None of it is sent anywhere, because there is no server to send it to: this site is a set of static files.

When you share a design, the design itself is packed into the link, after the #. Browsers do not send that part of a URL to a server, so even a link you share is only read by whoever opens it.

What is stored on your device

Your most recent design is kept in your browser's local storage so the editor opens where you left it. It stays on your device, it is readable only by this site, and clearing your browser data removes it. There are no cookies.

What is loaded from elsewhere

Emoji artwork is served from this domain rather than someone else's CDN, so opening the picker does not become a request to a third party. The typeface is self-hosted for the same reason. Nothing on the page is a tracking pixel, an ad, or an embed.

Analytics

If page analytics are ever added, they will be a privacy-preserving, cookie-free counter of page views, with no fingerprinting and nothing about the designs anyone makes. This page will say so on the day it happens.

Downloads and rights

The images you make are yours, including for commercial use. There is no watermark and nothing to attribute to us. The emoji artwork inside them belongs to its designers and carries its own licence; see emoji licences for who drew what and under which terms.
